| Blue wood-smoke twines with the valley mist. A fish flips the pond surface. Seated on the cool mat, The smell of summer reeds. Pine-wood blowing. Hammock between two pines. Ants rustle the needles. Black mole hunts pink worm, Writhing in damp spring earth. Nothing to say. Pebbles baking in the sun. Cart creaking in the morning sun. Bucket in the well---SPLOOSH!! Mushrooms in the basket, moss stones drip onto pine needles. Bee on the petal, gathering. A dew-drop rolls off. Tree and rock lean together. Blue sky soars. Ants in the moss. © Paul Mitchell 2001. |
